COSMETIC RHINOPLASTY
Rhinoplasty is a kind of cosmetic surgery to reshape the nose. Some people who can not breathe through the nose so they think to have a rhinoplasty while others people choose it to improve the look of their nose so rhinoplasty is used to correct breathing problem or to reshape the nose. When rhinoplasty is used to improve the shape of nose there will be scar on the tip of the nose which is not seen after healing. The external approach helps to define nasal features. Some techniques require the open approach to the nose while other can be through a closed approach.
When viewing functional rhinoplasty, several areas of the nose should be addressed. The opening of the nose, called the external valve, the middle part of the inside of the nose, called the septum, the structures on the outside wall of the inside of the nose, called turbinates, and the internal nasal valve. The nose and the adenoids as these can be enlarged can cause difficulty to breath through the nose. If you fail to calculate the adenoids, it means you are missing more ominous medical problems such as cancer. If each one of these areas causing difficulty breathing through the nose then it may need to be addressed separately or together to get the best possible results.
When considering a cosmetic rhinoplasty, function must be maintained. It would be imprudent to get a cosmetically perfect nose if you can't breathe through it. Cosmetic changes should bring aesthetic improvement to the nose without causing a functional problem.
For rhinoplasty surgery bone or cartilage is needed to support the structure of nose. This bone or cartilage mostly graft from the skull, ear, ribs, or even the nose itself. While planning rhinoplasty surgery the patient know about the need of additional structural material but sometimes physicians must make decisions during the operation to obtain additional supporting material.
So for cosmetic rhinoplasty choose a skilled surgeon. Risks of rhinoplasty surgery depend upon the health of the patient, medications used by the patient, and additional graft material which must be used so your surgeon must know your outlook and give you the right advice to get good results.
